Important Information for Travelers

Tiger Hill – Visiting Tiger Hill at sunrise is one of the highlights of Darjeeling, but access is regulated by the local tourism authorities. Entry is subject to permits and availability. In case permits are not granted or if weather conditions do not allow a sunrise visit, Tiger Hill will be included later in the day along with other sightseeing points.

Nathula Pass- Nathula Pass lies on the Indo-China border and is one of Sikkim’s most sought-after experiences. However, visits here are strictly controlled:

Permits: A limited number of permits are issued by Sikkim Tourism, usually 24 hours before travel, and only to registered travel agencies on a rotation basis. While we will apply on your behalf, permits cannot be guaranteed. Processing requires a minimum of 72 hours with complete documents, so last-minute requests are not possible.

Road & Weather Conditions: Access depends on road conditions and military clearance. If permits are unavailable or weather does not permit travel, the tour will extend only up to Baba Mandir, with the Nathula supplement (if charged) refunded.

Costs: The trip requires an additional supplement of approx. ₹6,000 per vehicle. This cost is not included in the package price.

Vehicle Allocation: Due to permit restrictions, vehicles are allotted by authorities. Guests may be asked to share transport with travelers from other agencies for a short stretch near Nathula. Vehicle type cannot be guaranteed.

Timings: Visits are allowed only between 11:00 AM and 12:30 PM. Guests must start early from Gangtok; any delay will result in missing the visit, even if a permit has been issued.

Documentation: To process permits, we require the name, address, age, and gender of each traveler. Each guest must carry two passport-sized photos and valid original ID proof (Voter ID, Passport, or Driving License). PAN and Aadhaar are not accepted. Children above 5 years must carry a School ID, and an original birth certificate in English is required.

Hotel Standards- Hotels in Darjeeling and Sikkim differ from those in larger Indian cities or international destinations. While we ensure carefully selected and graded properties, guests should expect simpler standards in many areas.

• Most hotels (except premium 4★ and 5★ properties) do not provide air conditioning, as the climate is natrally cool. Table fans may be available on request.
• Lifts are not common. Guests with mobility issues should inform us at the time of booking so that appropriate rooms can be requested.
• Power cuts and water shortages are frequent in the hills. Hotels may provide bucketed hot water or backup through generators only for essential areas.
• Standard check-in time is 2:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM. Early check-in or late checkout is subject to availability and at hotel discretion.
• Extra beds are usually rollaway beds or mattresses. Room heaters, if available, are chargeable directly by the hotel.

Vehicles & Transfers – Small groups (up to 3 passengers) are usually provided with a Wagon R/Alto. Larger groups are allotted Scorpio/Xylo/Innova (4–6 pax). For 8 pax, two vehicles are provided.

• AC runs only in the plains, not in the hills. Innova, due to its low chassis, is not recommended for North Sikkim; alternative SUVs are provided.
• Vehicles are on a point-to-point basis and not at disposal. In Gangtok, due to government restrictions, larger vehicles cannot pick up or drop guests directly at hotels. In such cases, local taxis (cost included) will be arranged for short transfers.
• During peak season, vehicles are provided based on availability. Exact models (Scorpio/Innova, etc.) cannot be guaranteed.
• Guests are advised to carry minimal luggage. Excess baggage may require an additional vehicle at the guest’s expense.
